Give nothing, Take it all...

Life’s most challenging moments render us in a state of uncertainty, but accepting the challenge can easily take the uncertainty out of the equation…

Exercise

Be Consistent! Chase Squires is the first to admit that he’s no fitness expert. But he is a guy who used to weigh 205 pounds, more than was healthy for his 5’4″ frame. “In my vacation pictures in 2002, I looked like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man at the beach,” says the 42-year-old Colorado resident. Squires decided enough was enough, cut out fatty food, and started walking on a treadmill. The pounds came off and soon he was running marathons. By: WebMD

Nutrition

For every 10 grams of carbohydrate listed on the label, look for at least one gram of fiber. Why 10:1? That’s the ratio of carbohydrate to fiber in a genuine, unprocessed whole grain. The recommendation comes from a study published in the journal Public Health Nutrition that evaluated hundreds of grain products; foods that met the 10:1 ratio had have less sugar, sodium, and trans fats than those that didn’t. Meditation

Feel your body parts. A great practice for beginning meditators is to take notice of the body when a meditative state starts to take hold. Once the mind quiets, put all your attention to the feet and then slowly move your way up the body (include your internal organs). This is very healthy and an indicator that you are on the right path. By: Zen Habits : breathe

Mind

Witness your thoughts. No one can stop thinking entirely; it is impossible. If you start trying not to think, you only end up thinking about how to stop thinking! What you can do, however, is to withdraw from your thoughts and become more of an objective spectator. By: Care2

Body

Water is the medium in which most cellular activities take place, including the transport and burning of fat. In addition, drinking plenty of calorie-free water makes you feel full and eat less. Drink at least 1 ounce of water per 2 pounds of bodyweight a day (that’s 100 ounces for a 200-pound person). Keep a 20-ounce water bottle at your desk, fill it five times a day, and you’re set. PUSHING YOURSELF TO THE LIMIT!

“The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.”~ Michelangelo

PROPER DIET

Developing a diet that is healthful, balanced, and appropriate for your particular caloric needs is easy enough and is absolutely critical to establishing a healthful lifestyle that incorporates proper nutrition, adequate fitness, and mental resilience. By:John Candy

PROPER STRETCHING

As a longtime practitioner of yoga and a person who’s been involved in physical fitness my whole life, I can tell you, yoga helps you achieve altered states of consciousness. It is not just stretching. The only way you can say that it’s stretching is if you haven’t done it, or that you haven’t done it rigorously for a long period of time. By: Joe Rogan

LIFESTYLE

I believe that fitness needs to come from within you. You need to respect your body. Only then will you have the zeal to maintain it. For me, keeping fit is a part of my lifestyle. By:Arjun Rampal

Nutrition Tip Of The Month

ASPARAGUS –  Is high in glutathione, an important anticarcinogen. It also contains rutin, which protects small blood vessels from rupturing and may protect against radiation. Asparagus is a good source of vitamins A, C and E, B-complex vitamins, potassium and zinc.

Maximize Your True Potential

“Most people are not utilizing their full potential because they have yet to fully understand the true potential that lies within. The body is a vessel, the mind nurtures the posibilities, the will calls it forth…”

Fitness Tip Of The Month

Perhaps one of the most important and most forgotten things a person tends to do before each work out, is stretch! Remember to stretch at least ten minutes before working out, to help prevent injury.

Knowing Your Ability

“Anyone can be taught how to do something and be very good at it.  But it takes one with natural ability to be Great. Study yourself, nurture that within, find your strenghts, know your ability…”

Can't Stop, Too Close

Our beliefs are shattered by goals too distant to see, too complex to comprehend…find that pivital moment, that moment of hurdle; sigh a relief, continue onward, don’t think about how far you’ve come- visulize the goal…
